  • Gwynne Shotwell

    Gwynne Shotwell


    As President and COO of SpaceX, Gwynne Shotwell is responsible for day-to-day operations and for managing all customer and strategic relations to support company growth. She joined SpaceX in 2002 as Vice President of Business Development and built the Falcon vehicle family manifest to more than 70 launches, representing nearly $8 billion in revenue. Shotwell is a member of the SpaceX Board of Directors. Prior to joining SpaceX, Shotwell spent more than 10 years at the Aerospace Corporation. There she held positions in Space Systems Engineering & Technology as well as Project Management. She was promoted to the role of Chief Engineer of an MLV-class satellite program, managed a landmark study for the Federal Aviation Administration on commercial space transportation, and completed an extensive analysis of space policy for NASA’s future investment in space transportation.

    Ali Partovi

    Ali Partovi has been described by the San Jose Mercury News as one of “Silicon Valley’s top angel investors,” having been on the ground floor of both Facebook and Dropbox. He's a passionate advocate of sustainable food systems, and has invested in BrightFarms and Farmigo, as well as real estate fund Farmland LP to scale organic, sustainable farming practices. After graduating from Harvard, Ali co-founded LinkExchange (acquired by Microsoft for $265mm). Partovi later co-founded iLike (acquired by MySpace). Partovi’s investments have also included: Zappos, OPOWER, Thumbtack, and Airbnb. Ali co-founded non-profit, which promotes Computer Science education and hosts the worldwide “Hour of Code.” He serves on the board of FoodCorps, a non-profit that improves food in public schools.

    Barry Schuler is Managing Director for DFJ Growth and the former Chairman/CEO of America Online Inc. He is credited with being one of the pioneers of the modern Internet. As an entrepreneur for more than 30 years, Barry propelled innovations in digital media, e-commerce, design, and video games. He was a member of the senior management team that scaled AOL from $1B to $200B in market cap during 20 consecutive quarters of growth. Barry co-founded the DFJ Growth Fund in 2006 and is actively involved with its investments which include Twitter, Tumblr, SolarCity, SpaceX and Tesla Motor Company

    David Brown

    David Brown


    David Brown is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Techstars. David is a serial entrepreneur who has founded three startups and been involved with two others. David is one of the original founders of Pinpoint Technologies, Inc. which is now part of ZOLL Medical Corporation and provides solutions to the emergency medical services market. He was President of the company from founding through over $50M per year in revenue and over 250 people. David later co-founded Techstars along with David Cohen, Brad Feld, and Jared Polis. He has been an investor and advisor to Techstars since inception. In 2013, he joined Techstars in a more active role as Managing Partner. David has a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. As a ski instructor in the past, David still enjoys hitting the slopes on a good powder day.

    Renaud Visage is the Co-founder and CTO of leading self-service ticketing platform for events around the world Eventbrite. Eventbrite enables people all over the world to plan, promote, and sell out any live experience. Launched in 2006 and based in San Francisco, Eventbrite has raised $200M in venture capital. It employs more than 400 people on four continents, and is available in 14 countries and 7 languages. When Renaud is not writing code, he’s probably taking pictures somewhere around the world.

    Fadi Ghandour is the Founder and Vice Chairman of Aramex, one of the leading global logistics and transportation companies. He is currently Managing Partner of Wamda Capital, a new Venture Capital fund focusing on technology investments in the Arab World. Fadi is also the Managing Partner of MENA Venture Investments, a seed capital investment company investing in early stage tech companies. He is Member of the Board of Abraaj Capital, Member of the Board of Endeavor Global, Member of the Advisory Council of the MIT Media Lab and Member of the Board of Trustees at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Passionate about social entrepreneurship, Fadi is the Founder and Chairman of Ruwwad for Development, a private-sector led community empowerment initiative that helps disadvantaged communities across the region overcome marginalization through activism, civic engagement, education and financial inclusion with support from the Ruwwad Micro Venture Fund, an equity-based fund providing seed capital and support

    Tal is partner at Sequoia Capital in Tel Aviv working with internet, mobile and enterprise companies in Israel. Prior to joining Sequoia, he was VP of product at Bink Financial Innovation, founded a company in the ed-tech space and worked as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. Tal holds a B.Sc in Biomedical Engineering from Tel Aviv University, and an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

    Nerio Alessandri was born in Cesena on April 8th, 1961. After education as an industrial designer, in 1983, at just 22 years of age, he founded Technogym, today's world leading company offering products and services for Wellness and rehabilitation. The first pieces of gym equipment, designed and built in his own garage, are the result of his enthusiasm for sport, his skills as a designer and his passion for design. In the early 90's, Alessandri defines the Wellness concept, a lifestyle which aims at improving the quality of life thanks to regular physical activity, a healthy diet and a positive mental attitude. A profoundly Italian concept whose roots are to be found in the ancient Roman saying "mens sana in corpore sano" and which very soon asserts itself on the market as the evolution of the American fitness concept. Today Technogym is a world leader company in the wellness and sport field and has been official supplier to the last 6 Olympic Games

    Phil is CEO of Kauffman Fellows. The mission of the organization is to develop the next generation of leaders in venture capital. Overseeing all aspects of Kauffman Fellows, Phil continues to push the program’s international expansion. He also has a special passion for venture capital’s opportunities globally in helping to meet societal needs. Phil also serves as the Managing Director of Sozo Ventures, which is a $140m cross-border venture fund that brings cutting edge technologies from Silicon Valley to Asia, backed by some of the region’s largest corporate groups.

    Melih is one of the pioneer internet entrepreneurs in Turkey. Founder of; online food delivery servicing 50k orders per day. Yemeksepeti sold to Delivery Hero in March 2015 for $600m producing Turkey’s largest internet exit to date. Melih has been selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur in 2007. He also is an active angel investor in internet and technology companies. He is one of the co-founders of Galata Business Angels, which is one of the first business angel networks in Turkey.

    Yanki Margalit is an Israeli entrepreneur, Founder of Aladdin Knowledge Systems, a digital rights management and Internet security company which was acquired by Safenet in 2009. He is currently Chairman of SpaceIL, a non-profit space technology organization competing for the Google Lunar X Prize. He is also a partner in Innodo, a seed investment fund.

    Michael Lints is Partner at Golden Gate Ventures. GGV is an early-stage VC firm in Southeast Asia with over 17 investments to date. With offices in Singapore and San Francisco, the firm helps bridge Silicon Valley and Asia through investment, experience, and network. Michael is a former vice chairman of the Economic Development Board Rotterdam and studied Financial Analysis for Business Valuation at Harvard Business School. Michael is a specialist in IT startups and venture management.

    Paul Ford is a serial entrepreneur, technology evangelist, innovator, strategist, and startup/VC advisor with two decades of experience in IaaS and SaaS organizations. As Vice President of Product and Marketing at SendGrid, Paul drives overall product strategy, marketing efforts and ecosystem development. Prior to SendGrid, Paul spent several years as Vice President of Ecosystem Development and Strategy at Softlayer Technologies in Dallas TX. Paul’s tenure included SoftLayer’s acquisition of “The Planet” hosting, and ended 8 months after IBM’s acquisition of SoftLayer for over $2 billion USD. While at SoftLayer Paul cofounded and managed the company’s world renown startup program Catalyst. Engagements previous to SoftLayer include time in Corporate Development at Rackspace, as well as raising millions of dollars for startups he cofounded. Paul continues to give back to the global startup community via longstanding mentorships at TechStars, 500 Startups, Tech WildCatters, SeedCamp, Wayra and many more.

    Karel Obluk is a computer scientist by training, security expert by experience. He is now working with top entrepreneurs and help them grow their businesses to become world leaders as part of the Evolution Equity VC fund. His past experience was from AVG Technologies (NYSE:AVG) where he served as a CTO, Chief Scientists and for more than a year also a iCEO. More recently, he invested in technology companies that applied new innovative approaches to security, such as Cognitive Security - acquired by Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO), SecurityScorecard or OpenDNS. Their growth stage fund focuses mostly on IT security, enterprise software, big data analytics and other related areas, helping primarily businesses from the United States and Europe.

Previously, he was a Partner at 500 Startups, a 4 year old "super angel" fund headquartered in Mountain View, CA and has overseen the investments in 525+ companies across 35+ countries. He is currently serving as an Entrepreneur in Residence with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and DHS/USCIS. Prior to Disruption Corporation and 500, Paul was the founder of a few other startups (two successful exits and a number of failures in between) and spent some time at PBworks, AOL and Symantec.

As well Angel is an experienced executive, entrepreneur and investor. He has broad experience over more than 20 years acting in international environments both in Asia and US building up startup projects. Angel is shareholder at Fractus, a well-known growing European Technology start-up in the global telecom industry which implemented a patent licensing program having collected close to $ 100 million in royalties to this day from top worldwide cellphone manufacturers.

She is a Regular Contributor for the Wall Street Journal on startups and small business, a mentor at The Brandery accelerator and Venture for America, and a member of Venture for America's Women’s Initiative Committee. Christina was previously a Vice President at Citigroup with background in capital markets, emerging markets and structured finance. She serves as Chairman of Hope on a String, a non-profit, grassroots organization that seeks to foster an environment of social transformation and economic development in Haiti through participation in music as well as Vice President of the Board of Governors of the Hotchkiss School Alumni Association.
